The Battle of Hoth

I've had a good time in bhammy so far. There have been a lot of gatherings/shindigs on the highlands, southside, and downtown. And an impromptu bottletree crimas party that was a lot of fun. I still have a few people to see, things to do, and places to eat. But hopefully I'll get to see/do/eat them all before the 9th. Also, I've watched 5 of the 6 episodes of Star Wars since i've been down here (hence the title). The Empire Strikes back is the only one left in the sextuplegy. And i'm sure it will come on one of the moviefilm channels soon.

I have some party pictures up from last Friday that i kind of forgot about until just now. They are from Belinda and Heather's birfday dance dance revolution at the Phoenix, curated by DJs Nastique & Charles III. Rush and Erin kidnapped my camera for awhile, so some of these are not my own, or I don't remember taking them. And theres a few of lit-up bham taken from Jim's view in Redmont.

Mega-Tron II

I finally got home on Wednesday afternoon, after Delta fucked up and never confirmed my reservation for Tuesday morning. And I'm getting sick, and my car was dead as a doornail when i went to start it up after getting home. But everything is good now, I have the parents' house to myself while Moms and Hash are in the Lank til the 4th. Gandalf now has a Mega-Tron II under the hood, and I'm on a heavy drug regimen that seems to be working pretty well. And there are about 6 parties this weekend to choose from over 2 days.

I have some pictures I took before leaving the city, of the view from Bleecker St. and a few shots of Times Square. I didnt go there until I had one extra day left in the city. And I used it to go see Juno at the AMC 25. Which was excellent. I decided not to go out that night b/c i had to be up at 520 to catch my flight the next morning. The security checkpoint line was wrapped around the terminal at LGA like a fucking anaconda, but it moved fast so i didnt miss my flight. And I flew from NYC to the ATL ($7.95 for terminal wifi, really?), and then waited 2 hours for a 26 minute flight to bhammy. And was pretty much a zombie when i got back. Yesterday was better though. I spent about $200 getting everything back to normal (car/house/drug-wise). And went to get lunch at bottletree, visited Josh and Austin, and went to go see master thespian Robby Ballard lifecoach a highschool basketball team at the Jew. And then to partake in messican food & margaritas at El Caz.

Anyway, these are edited with my new Adobe Lightroom program, so they look pretty snazzy.

Little Sisters of Beijing

So I didn't get to do some of the things I wanted to this weekend thanks to a handy little fuck-up on NYU's part. But I did go see the new Julian Schnabel (Basquiat) film on Wednesday w/ Wrisley and her friend Lexie. It was called the Diving Bell & The Butterfly, and it was ausome. And we went to this Cuban place in NoLita called Cafe Habana afterwards. And after that I went to David Shrigley's Worried Noodles book/album release party @ The Knitting Factory.

On Friday night I went to The Glasslands Gallery in Brooklyn for to see Tussle & These Are Powers. And Saturday I went to the Merc Lounge for Sightings & Major Stars. But I'm taking the GRE next weekend so this is going to be my last post until after that. And then I'll be in Bham a couple of days later anyway. Later blood.
