Die Allman Bruder

I went to 2 ponytail shows this weekend. The first was on Friday at the Less Artists More Condos loft party on W3rd and Mcdougal in the Village, the other was at the After The Jump Festival in Bklyn on Saturday. Me and Bb and Kyle went to the Anamanaguchi show at the Cake Shop before the first show, which was an early all-ages show that ended at 10. So there were a bunch of 17 year olds pogo-ing and moshing to the nintendo jamz. We got to the LAMC party in time to see Ponytail, which was amazing. And I ran into my friend Barrett and his friend Kelly on the street outside of the Fat Black Pussycat before the show, and they came with us to the show. And then me, Bb, Kyle, Barrett, Kelly, Huggybear, and Mmtalia all came to my place for a little gathering/afterparty for to drink Brooklyn Weisse, Old Speckled Hen, and Magic Hat and watch the new Weeds episode in HD on the projector. And a couple of them ended up staying over.

I got to the After the Jump Fest around 4 on saturday afternoon in Billysburg, and there were bands playing at the Music Hall, at Galapagos, and on the skreet. It was sort of like a baby SXSW in Bklyn. The highlights of which were the Chairlift, Power Douglas, Ponytail, and Pattern is Movement shows. And I cabbed it back to Manhattan around 1130. Today I went to Jazz Brunch at the Washington Square hotel w/ Barrett and his friend Jesse, who was the older brother in The Squid and The Whale. Then me and Barrett and Jesse came back here to hang out and have some mimosas. Then we went to Cantilero in Gramercy to meet Barrett's friend Ali and have some Sangria, and then capped the afternoon off at Panchito's for some Marg's. Then I came home and took a drunk catnap and was 40 minutes late to me & Bb's DJ gig in the East Village. It started out a little rocky w/ the levels on the mixer being off, but then everything clicked into place and we played some good music and met some people and I drank free amstels all night and got a paid a lil bit at the end of the night.

Bionic Pie

I got my NPSG [nocturnal polysomnography] done yesterday at team sleep, for to get my sleep scored. I did bad. I'm going to start bright light therapy soon to try and curb by DSPD [delayed sleep phrase disorder]. Which is pretty common, but i'm a severe case, apparently. Seeing as that i got about half an hour of sleep last night. And i still have 2 electwodes attached from all machines that i was hooked up to. Thank you and goodnight.

Dutch Hex

It's been a long week. I was feeling a little under the weather during the middle of it, but things are better now. Me and Belinda and Tony Tejas DJd at the Alligator Lounge in Billysburg last weekend, and then went to Le Gamin for Natalia's birfday brunch the next morning. After that we went to a Scandinavian sample sale at the Toast Agency in Soho and a White Rabbits show at MHOW later that night. On Sunday I went to a free Dim Sum and Stella party w/ Lexie and Maya at the Chinatown Brassiere in the East Village.

Then I took it easy for a couple of days, but went to the Susu show at Rehab on Wednesday w/ Anthony and Bex, who came over the next night to watch the Top Chef finale on the projector. When we got done with that I went out to Legion in Bklyn to say bye to Belinda before she flew out to Dauphin Island for the weekend, and ended up staying out there for awhile and DJing w/ this guy Casey, who wants to book us for more gigs.

On Friday the 13th I went to the special Oneida show at The Kitchen, but I was working late so I missed most of the show. But I did catch the last few songs from The Wedding, and then they ended on a 20-minute version of Sheets of Easter, w/ a full orchestra and lightshow. Which was pretty amazing. After that I went to the Death By Audio Zombie Party w/ Fiasco, Bat Attack, and Pterodactyl. I only saw Fiasco play, because it was a fucking furnace in there, but they were awesome. They were like Lightning Bolt Jr. Then I walked over to the Royal Oak for the FOTP 3rd Anniversaire, and talked to DJ Dom Rocket and his girlfriend and had a few drinks.

Yesterday I tried to go see Vampire Weekend Weekend and Kid Sister in Central Park, but it was raining and the line was like 2 miles long, so I headed down to Times Square to see the new Increda-Hulk movie instead, which was decent. And I capped the night off at the Professor Murder/Hearts of Darkness/This Show Is A Rainbow show at the Cake Shop last night. Prof Murder killed it, it was one of the best shows i've seen in awhile. The new Season of Weeds starts tomorrow, and I might go see Love Is All at the Bowery Ballroom. I think thats about all.

Konichiwa Bitches

I went to Birmingham on Thursday night for my sister's HS graduation. She was in 5th grade when I was a senior at Altamont, so now it's come full circle twice since I started there in 1994. The new headmaster gave a good speech that kind of bridged the gap between the different eras of the school. After the graduation we went to dinner at Sol y Luna in Lakeview, and i started off my night w/ 2 pepper-rimmed margaritas. From there I saw and did just about everything on my to-see-and-do list between Friday night and Monday morning.

Cave 9, The Garage, The J Clyde, Bottletree, The Plaza, Marty's, Bailey's, Rojo, Al's, Surin, Milo's, Chik-Fil-A, Makario's, House Show in Southside, Pool Party at Teresa's.. thats all I can remember right now. But is was nice. I got to drive again, and it was like being on vacation except I knew how to get everywhere I wanted to go. And I drank more in 3 days than I would in 2 weeks up here. And was out until 430 or 5 in the morning for every night I was there. Which is taking its toll on me now. I also got my sister stocked up for Senior Florida and found out that some of my bham people are going to be up here this summer. I've been too tired to go out since I got back. But I may go to see Radio 4 & The Cloud Room tomorrow night at Le Royale. And me and Belinda are having another DJ night at the Alligator Lounge in Williamsburg on Friday.
